Isle of Man Post Office Host Exclusive Aardman Screening

Isle of Man Post Office hosted an evening for customers and competition winners plus their families to an exclusive screening of Aardman classics 'A Grand Day Out' and 'A Close Shave' at the Broadway Cinema, Villa Marina on Thursday 1st September.

The competition which ran at the Royal Manx Show received hundreds of entries and 10 competition winners were selected after answering the question 'what is Wallace's favorite cheese' correctly, with the answer being Wensleydale of course.

Lucky competition winners, Ruth Cannell with her partner Matt and children Finlo and Benjamin in the Aardman' Photo booth' and Freya Allitt is pictured with her grandparents Ken and Pat Allitt and Shaun the Sheep.

Also in attendance was special guest Shaun the Sheep, a five foot model who continued his role raising funds for the Wallace and Gromit Children's Charity, guests were able to stick a stamp on Shaun after making a donation to the charity which provides much needed funds for children's hospitals and hospices across the UK, including Rebecca House.

Lisa Duckworth, Commercial & Operations Director at Isle of Man Post Office said: 'We are delighted with the response to our competition and pleased to host an evening of fun for all the family with some of our valued customers and competition winners, watching these two great Aardman classics. This event continued the promotion and awareness of our recent stamp issue celebrating the 40th anniversary of Aardman.'
